Established in 2008, Shadow Consulting is a high-tech consulting group that specializes in research, tactical consulting, tactical training, tactical strategies, tactical video production and tactical technologies development.

In 2001, Shadow Consultings’ director, James Coats, created the Chameleon Project. This well devised project is the ultimate answer to protecting soldiers while engaged in combat. The first phase of the project utilized almost futuristic chameleon color-changing technology, which was incorporated into protective body armor in late 2008. The technology is commonly referred to as chameleon armor color-changing camouflage or CACC. Furthermore, CACC gives soldiers the capability to blend into a variety of environments within seconds without altering the thermal signature of the soldier or emitting light; thus saving lives.
